India Shines at the Special Olympics World Games 2023, Winning 202 Medals

Indian Contingent's Remarkable Performance

The Indian contingent at the 2023 Special Olympics World Summer Games (officially known as the XVI Special Olympics World Games or Special Olympics World Games Berlin 2023 German) has made the country proud with an impressive medal tally of 202. By the last day of the games, India had won 76 gold, 75 silver, and 51 bronze medals, showcasing the extraordinary talent and determination of its athletes.

A Historic Event in Berlin

Held from June 17 to 25, 2023, the Special Olympics World Games took place in Berlin, Germany, marking the first time the event has been hosted by the country. The World Games were the largest inclusive sporting event globally, bringing together thousands of athletes, coaches, families, and fans.

The 2023 Special Olympics World Games brought nearly 7,000 athletes and Unified teammates (athletes without intellectual disabilities) from over 190 countries to Berlin for a week of competition and celebration of the power of inclusion.
